50 Alkaline diet foods for health

Acid-forming diets lead to acid indigestion that leads to chronic acidosis, acidifying body tissues.  This process starves cells of oxygen and eventually compromises the immune system.  This can lead to diseases like cancer, heart disease, stroke, and memory loss.  Other problems such as muscle loss, sleep disturbances, low energy, and poor athletic performance may also arise.

There has been considerable change from the hunter-gatherer civilization to the present when it comes to net acid load in the human diet.  Although there are plenty of positive things to say regarding the agricultural and industrial revolutions, sadly they have brought us “modern” refined and genetically modified grains, sugars, and processed foods.  Even when trying to eat healthy, it can be very difficult to eliminate or even avoid them!  With modern society’s lifestyle, combined with the average consumer’s lack of nutritional understanding and mixed messages from the media, it is no wonder that more and more people are being diagnosed with chronic, degenerative illnesses and diseases which conventional medicine claims to have no cure.  Many of these modern diseases were rare, if not unheard of, even 100 years ago.

Alkaline-forming diets are rich in vegetables and some fruits, have modest amounts of meats and nuts, and void of refined foods, processed foods, and GMOs.  Alkalizing diets will likely help stave off disease, help you lose weight, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better overall!

Even if you’re diet is not perfect, including just a few Alkaline diet foods every day will help.  Try to reduce acidic foods and beverages as well.
